Welcome to Little Pistol Studio — the art studio and creative practice of Charleston-based artist Ella Pieper. Self-taught and guided by intuition, Pieper creates abstracts and semi-abstracts, with a body of work that often carries a sense of coastal energy inspired by her Southern home in Charleston, SC. Working primarily in acrylics and oil pastels, she allows intuitive exploration and discovery to guide her process, creating work that reflects her unique perspective and ever evolving creative journey.

“DOUBLE TAKE” looks back at the person who shaped me while recognizing the person I’m still becoming. Inspired by the fashion, music, and energy of growing up in the ’90s, the piece layers nostalgia with a sense of yin and yang—light and dark, chaos and calm, confidence and uncertainty. At its heart, “DOUBLE TAKE” is about embracing the many versions of ourselves as parts of one evolving story, and inviting a second look at both the work and the stories we tell ourselves.
